Hi
So as I found out in ELO, if I leave
in 5th August (I arrive same night to Hamburg) I have to wait until 11th to go
and join my host-family, since we are going to have little camp to learn about
culture, laws, school systems etc + some german setences we might need.
Anyways.. ELO
1. Day
We staied for 2 night and 3 days in some big Learning Center located in
Väike-Maarja. In total there was 110 people ^^ I slept on 3rd floor with 3
other girls who go to Germany and thing I have to say now is that: FOOD WAS
AMAZING! Like 1st lunch: potatoes, sauce, chiken, salad, kisell with whipied
cream... like all this good stuff through all 3 days. Other older exchange
students shared their stories and motivated us. We learned about cultures and
were shown also "ice berg theory" that we see only upper part
such as: flag, clothing, anthem... but we don't see lower part such as
traditions... And that was pretty much it. Later from 20:22:00 we played some
group games which was ver fun!
+ We had one games going on through all
3 days called "bomb attack" ...whenever some leader of the event
yelled it..we had to get down on the floor xD
2.Day
They woke us 15 minutes earlier than promised! How mean xD Woke up, went
downstairs and then we had about 10minutes long morning excerises ^^ Then we
learned about communacting, that we have to be open with exchange country
people, locals, and leave our country behind and connect with it as little as
possible, so we get homesick less. We were explained again about tules what we
aren't allowed to do this year and also what are our rights. And at evening we
were shared into 12groups... and had to puy up a play within 45minutes! My team
got 2nd place. :)
3. Day
We were woken 15minutes earlier, again xD And went outside for exercises. Then
we had game "Alfa and Beta". One group was shared into 2 (about 20+
people shared into 2 groups) and went into different classes. Then both groups
were thaught about their new culture. Task was to get answers to some
questions. It was so much fun, idea of this thing was that we need to learn to
pay attentin in new culture and try to pick up new habits, but keep them
in our "alfa-land". We were also talked about insurance (like
when something is stolen from me or I break something that belongs to
host-family or I need medical attention, then insurance covers it.) The we were
talked about flying, and plane tickets, and what to pack, how to check-in etc
^^ And then it was pretty much over.
Enjoy your day!
