Hey
Like mentioned before, I had my Middle Year Seminar. Our theme was "Tehnick and design". Going to Wolfsburg was not so bad, because ~2h of the trip I spent with one other exchange student from Turkey. We got there very early, but didn't really matter. In total we had 36 students from more than 10 different countries.
28.02.
We didn't do that much, because everyone arrived around 5-5:30pm and already at 6pm we had our dinner. After that we met in one room and got to know eachother a little bit (name, where are we living in germany, hobbies, where are we from, favrote word). We got first look at our week's plan and rules (simple ones: 3 people in group when going outside, 10pm bed check, no drugs..etc). We found out our homegroup and then spent some time with our group. After that we had bedcheck, then free time.. so just sitting downstairs, listening someone playing guitar, chatting, playing some board games.. :)
I shared my room with 3 girls. One was from Japan, second from Egypt and third from China.
Home for one week:
Plan for our week |
1.03.
Everyone were up and eating breakfast at 8:30. After breakfast we moved to our homegroups and made little graphs about our time spent here until this month (Family, friends, school, language). Free time, lunch and little presentation about Wolfsburg's history. Free time, dinner and "Niedersachsen Challenge". We were shared into groups and had to complete challenges. Then again free time.
2.03.
Breakfast. Theme of the day was communication and most of the work was made in homegroups. After lunch and free time we made some mindmaps about perfect families and exchange students. We also wrote down the things our host-families have done for us. Turns out that no one is perfect and from now on I will say more often "thank you" to my host-family. Before dinner, we were shared into groups for evning activites: bowling, watching a movie, planetarium. I went bowling. On the way there was very interesting for me to talk in Estonian over a long time. On of the Team members was exchange student in Estonia and his language skills were very good, was nice to chat and discuss things over a long time.

Breakfast, some people missing. We had a trip to Wolfsburgs city museum and castle, saddly it all was just rushed through and couldnt really see everything. We were back for lunch time and after some free time we made groups and began with Wolfsburg Rally. It was 14 questions and 2 exercsises, we needed to find answers to them while going around the city. Our team, Flappy Birds, got a a diploma for being good at trading (one excersise was that we got an egg and needed to exchange it for better things in the city. It went like this: Egg-city plan-2 UK cents-pen-marker-cerealbar-pocketbook over mechanics). In whole competition, sharing with other group, we got 2nd place. After free time and dinner we had some workshops: friend hand braclets, impro-theater, orgiami, guitar. I learned to do some handbraclets. Suprisingly it got very popluar amoung all of us and it became very handy :) Made few myself also. Self-made things come from the heart, like we usualy say in Estonia.

Breakfast, few people missing. One simulation game (~1,5h). 6 cities, 6-7 people in one group. Each city had different start postions. Who had more materials (paper), who had better tehnical things (scissors, ruler, pencil..). We had to sell our "products" (list on paper with measurments) and keep eye on prcies. First we didn't have so much luck. We had just pencil and 20 pieces of paper, but somehow worked our way so up, that when we did get scissors, we managed to make so many products that we made more than 200 money, that hurricane had to come and take out things away. In the end we still won tho :) After that we had lunch and made some groups again. One group went on a trip to Wolfsburg's arena, one group went to car museum and i went with last group to Phaeno sience center. Super cool! In the evning workshops I learned some chineses.

5.03.
Sleep times are so messed up :D After breakfast we met with our homegroups and talked about how is our rest of the months going to be. After lunch we heard a little bit about RAF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Army_Faction) and after that, getting ready for our big Gala Evning. Since students had to plan everything, we made groups: dancing, decorations, games, cordinators etc. Teamwork was super great! Dinner, free time and workshops: I played some board games.6.03.
1 hour earlier breakfast and start to our most important part of the week: Autostadt (Car city). We had a trip in Volkswagen's factory. What I found quite interesting, was that most of the workers had bikes. Since factory is over 1km long, it's quiker way to travel. After that we had tour to Autostadt and later a trip on Middlelandcanal.
We also saw Autostadt's glasstowers. What was going on there, you can see here:

* Quiz for team, about our countries
* Dancers + in the end everyone dancing macarena
* Party until half one
(Hope I got everything right...)

Las day :(
Early up, last breakfast together. Met in one room, again thanking people, some energizers and then I introdcued one hugging/goodbye game (one other girl wished for it). Got tears in my eyes, but managed to hold back. After that we all went to trainstation to wait for our trains. After that I got home and told everything I have written here, to my family :)
I can end this post with just saying that this week was so nice! Awesome people and very cool team! Thank you all! :)
Greetings :)
