Event..a bit late tho - Week with aunt Sandra

Hey,

kinda lost my writing skills by the end of my exchange year, but now, 4 months later, i finally thought i should finish it.

Near the end of my exchange year I had little vaccation with my host-aunt Sandra. We had two bigger goals which were: vaccation (of course) and seeing the "water games".

Vaccation was made with caravan and the place we stopped was called Erholungzentrum Neuental Neuenhainer See - very nice name uh :D Most our days were just spending time with family members and family friends: eating, games, sunbathing, swimming, looking for crystals, catching tiny lobsters etc. Best part was that I was able to sleep in a tent!

S:

No summer vaccation goes by without beach and water
At evning little bonfire:                                                                   playing Wikingerschach':

That pretty much was. It was a lot of fun!

Second was seeing those water games. To sum up, up the hill, near the castle (i asume) they released extra rain water which started coming down hill through little waterfalls/springs:

Me and my host-aunt Sandra

Water games ended with "small" fountain

That was :)
Have a beautiful Autnum! :)

Next to old stone mine, there was this "arena".. on right picutre you even see me from faaar away xD

18.04 we went to Dresden, weather wasn't so nice anyways. Visited Dresden's Art Galery what was quite interesting for me.. Nice to see all masterpieces with my own eyes :)

On way back to hotel, got a chance to get view in this fantastical place:

19.04... had a day with my host-sis and her boyfriend, visited few castles with museums inside them. Since they both are interested in tehnical stuff, we visited some motorbike museums. I have a lot more pictures, but not going to add them all here. At the evening we went for a swim :)

A view from one of the castles
20.04 it was time for Easter. Breakfast, gifts and church. Later we climbed my first own little mountain,  around ~1km high and it tooks us over 4 hours to get there, road was ~14km.
Not the best picture, but here we all are :)

Look from on top of the mountain

I can say, that going up was a lot more fun xD

21.04 we packed our stuff and went back home..

Also went to circus on one evening with Mariah :)

Now it is school time and tests are waiting. It is better now, because now I can actually understand what I have to write :D

Poland 22.03-31.03.14

Hey

I know it has been almost a week since my trip to Poland, but I have just been way too lazy to look through all the pictures and add descriptions to it, but I'll do it now.

22.03
Our trip started around half five, when we met next to our school and drove off in direction Osnabrück where we had little 45mins stop. After that we went on another bus and next morning around eight we arrived in Gliwice. It was so nice to see my friends there again! :)

23.03
We drove home and I met with my host-family for the week. Later we sat in my host-sis' room and talked so much we forgot that we needed to be in the city at three. As we went downstairs, host-mom had made dinner for us (breakfast-2nd breakfast-dinner-supper) so we were late. In city we went to bowling what was pretty fun. After that we went to Forum (mall) where we sat most of the time in McDonalds and talked.

24.03
We visited lessons. Was very nice to feel like I was in Estonian school again, a lot more freedom inside school and of course people were so friendly! After our 2nd breakfast we had tour in Gliwice and after that we went to Forum again, free time, talked + played some cards.

25.03
We visited Krakaow, tour was around 4 hours... after dinner we had free time.. mostly spent it playing cards again + learned few new card games! ^^

26.03
I think that this was the high point of the week. Day started with a movie "Schindler's List" what talks about jews. I recomend to watch it! After that we had tour in Auschwitz....

Things they have from people who were killed in Auschwitz:
Hair

Glasses

Prosthesises

Bowls, cups

Baskets, suitcases

Shoes of the children..

Shoes of the grown ups (it was a long corridor.. both sides filled with shoes)

Combs, brushes
Living houses:

Few kids who were in Auschwitz, mostly for medical experiments...
Normal food.. about 1500-1700kcal... seems much..but really not enough to survive the working..

"Wall of Death"...here found their end around 6000 people...

Crematorium

"Arbeit macht frei" ..logo of this camp..  (Work makes free)..

 Auschwitz II

Thats what they used to transport people

For a lot of people the last gate and last train station
Gas chamber, collapsed

 Places to sleep

27.03
In the morning we made some art and after that we went to Zabrze into coal mine. Might sound boring, but for me it was one of the most interesting tours, maybe because I could actually understand tour guide's german accent. Also it was fun, knowing you were 320m deep in the ground.. After this we went to my host-sis' place with some other people, to play some games, as my host-sis thought.. but the thing she didn't know was that there were people waiting ahead and we had planned surprised birthday party! She got 18 ^^

How safe would you feel 320m underground in tunnel with that kind of walls? :D

How tunnels were made in mines:

And how they make them now:

28.03
We went to Katowice, didn't see much of the city, but we visited one ENORMOUS shopping mall :D After that we had visit to planetarium and in the evning little grilling party :)
This was in the middle of the shopping mall :D

Planetarium

29.03
We played laser game (paintball laser version) what was quite fun! Got a bit hurt down in the dark cellar, but was okei :D In the evning we had little supper in restaurant and after that we went over to one guy's place.. just to sit and talk, i think almost everyone were there :D Also tried to make estonian food "kohukesed", they did taste okei, but me, who has tasted the real ones, knew how bad they were XD

30.03
We visited one ..i dont konw how it's in english.. garden indoor.. botanical garden(?), which was very nice. Later we went to Forum and after that back home, wehere I had little chit-chat with my host-family. After seven, after goodbyes and hugs, we left Gliwice and arrived back in Meppen on 31st morning around 9.

That was my week in Poland ^^ It was so much fun and I have met so many awesome people! Hope to see them again! ^^

Greetings! :)
