Papenburg

Hey

At the moment we have in our school some exchangestudents from Poland, not for a year, but as friend school. I was offered to take part of their activities and this Tuesday we went to Papenburg.

Mostly is city known for company called Meyer-Werft. Meyer-Werft produces different cruiseships, what are used all over the world. Factory itself is very big, around 80meters wide and high and ~500meters long!

MODEL OF THE FACTORY
On history part we were able to see modles of first "cruiseships":
CONSTANTIA, 1850
TRITON, 1874

HOMERIC, 1986

And on today's view, we were able to see also models, we were told that just one of these models costs around ~50 000 euros.

They are also authors of Disney Dream cruiseship:
Picture of ship's model was bad, so here is link where you can see it:

And this is how factory side looked like. Ship on the back, NCL, has to be ready around year 2014 beginning:

Factory all seen, we got some free time to look around the city. I was partnered up with polish students and I can say it was good decision to go with them. They were super cool and very friendly, so luckly wasn't bored. We went to eat and visited old city. Papenburg is knows as "flower city" and there was a lot of those. Through old city flowed a little canal.

Then we went to  Surwold, to visit place called Kletterwald, in straight translation it would be "climbing forest". Other way it's called adventure park. But before that there was huge playground and all of us let little kid outside.

I was on slide, down are polish and german students, most of them had gone down the slide already

 After playground climbing began!

And that was our day. It was a lot of fun and in the night didn't have any problems falling asleep.

Have a nice week!

Enel
